East Haven Police K9 Mack Gets New Partner, Officer Stephen Marsico

EAST HAVEN, CT — They know each other and have been on the job for a while. But as partners? Brand new. The East Haven Police Department K-9 program announced that Officer Stephen Marsico is now partnering with K9 Mack.

Marsico, who was hired in 2020, and K9 Mack recently graduated from the K9 academy and will be working in the patrol division.

Marsico’s academy graduation "completed a seamless transition from Mack’s previous handler, Detective Fred Sego who was recently promoted to detective," police noted.

"This transition ensures Mack will have many more years to serve the residents of the town of East Haven," police said on social media.

About East Haven's K9 duos, program

East Haven Police K9 Supervisor Capt. David Emerman told Patch last year that the K9 program is an "extremely valuable component to our law enforcement operation."

East Haven's K9s are Ace, Enzo, and Mack. Ace works alongside partner Officer Kevin McGuire. Enzo works with partner Officer Donato Palma. And now, Mack, who'd been by the side of Sego, is Marsico's right hand.

East Haven police K9 Officer Donato Palma and his K9 partner Enzo successfully located a non-verbal autistic child last September.

And K9 Ace, who has his own Instagram page, has had his share of captures and rescues.
