East Haven Residents Urged to Keep Pets Inside as Coyote Sightings are Increasing
There has been an uptick in coyote sightings in East Haven.

East Haven residents have noticed seeing coyote in the town, and the East Haven Animal Shelter is cautioning residents to keep their pets indoors or with them at all times.
Here is the Facebook post from the East Haven Animal Shelter.
“We have been receiving many calls lately about coyotes and deer in some of our neighborhoods. Partly due to the large fence that was put up around Tweed New Haven airport, many of these animals have lost their habitats and now are being seen in residential areas.

Unless the animals are sick, injured, or have attacked, there is not much we can do. People are worried about their pets so precautions should be taken (which should be done in any case), such as going outside with your pets at all times, and keeping cats indoors.
We don’t want to see any people or pets injured, but we also can not go out and kill innocent wildlife either. Please keep your pets safe, you just may have to be more vigilant.”
