Obituary: ​Angelina Cuomo Swanson Jenkins, 100, of East Haven

Her Lady of Pompeii Parish friends and Morning Mass Family especially appreciated her jams, jellies, pickles, and crocheting abilities.

Angelina Cuomo Swanson Jenkins, 100 years old, passed away peacefully at Branford Hospice on 21 September 2017. The wife of the late George E. Swanson, she worked alongside him in their Fair Haven grocery store, Swanson’s Market. Her second marriage to Al Jenkins and subsequent move to East Haven allowed her time to enjoy her many friends and family members, pursuing her love of baking and cooking to share with them.

Her Lady of Pompeii Parish friends and Morning Mass Family especially appreciated her jams, jellies, pickles, and crocheting abilities. Angie was an avid reader; her Easter Morning Brunch was legendary. One of six children, Angie was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence Cuomo and Anthony Cuomo, and sisters Madeline Diglio and Nellie Delgrego.

She leaves behind her two loving daughters Sue Swanson Prasad with her husband Radha Prasad and Maggie Swanson with her husband Rick Wetzel. Angie will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Leigh Wetzel and husband Brian Easterling; Raman Prasad and his wife Niloufer Moochhala and her great-granddaughter Zahra; Chandra Prasad and her husband Basil Petrov and her great-grandsons Nikhil and Alexie Petrov; and her grandson Ravi Prasad. She is also survived by her sister Josephine Cipriani, her dear niece Bettina Perito, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who always offered their support and encouragement and love.

Angelina will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Branford Hospice and Dr. Vincent Dicola for their devoted care.Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock in Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Road, East Haven, CT. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations to her memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
