Obituary: Rachel (D’Amato) Riccio 98, of Guilford, formerly East Haven

She worked for Edward Malley Company and Bank of America, loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with family at Indian Neck Yacht Club.

Rachel (D’Amato) Riccio 98, of Guilford, formerly of East Haven passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family on April 5,2022. She was born February 28, 1924 in New Haven to Nicholas and Madeline (Manzi) D’Amato. Rachel is survived by her two devoted children, Kimberly Montana (Frank) of Guilford and Clyde Riccio of East Haven along with two grandchildren she adored, Darci Fischer and Jason Fischer (Kristin). Rachel is also survived by three great grandchildren, a niece, Darnell Stonick (James) of Branford, sister-in-law, Rosemary (Onofrio) D’Amato and numerous nieces/nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Salvatore “Ric” Riccio and siblings, Mamie (D’Amato) Romano, Rose (D’Amato) Durso, Anthony D’Amato, Alfred D’Amato and Paul D’Amato.

Rachel worked for many years at Edward Malley Company and Bank of America before her retirement. She loved to cook and was always making new recipes with her “added touch.” She spent many fun years at the Indian Neck Yacht Club with her husband and family. Rachel was dedicated to her family; always making sure everyone was okay and never needed anything. She is the end of a legacy and will be missed by all.

Family will receive friends from 9- 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will then leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Michael Catholic Church, 29 Wooster Place, New Haven with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
