Parks & Recreation's Summer Camps, Programs Canceled

EAST HAVEN, CT — All summer camps and recreation programs are canceled, town officials announced.

“The challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic presents us with a situation where it is nearly impossible to ensure the safety and health of camp participants and staff. Like so many communities, I also made the difficult decision to cancel," town Parks and Recreation director Lou Pane said.

Pane said that while the cancellations "will have a significant impact on families and children" the department has a number of virtual recreation programs, "in hopes to keep both
children and adults active throughout the summer from the safety of their own homes."
