A game-related Super Bowl argument turned into a man being threatened with a gun in New Haven, police said. A man then barricaded himself.
An argument over the Super Bowl led to a man being threatened with a gun and a barricaded suspect in New Haven, according to police.
Officers were dispatched to a Cedar Hill Avenue address around 6:55 p.m. Sunday after a man called 911 and reported that he was threatened by an armed man, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
The victim told police a game-related argument erupted at a Super Bowl party and a man at a super bowl party pulled out a gun and held it to his head. The victim fled the home and reported that the armed man was outside pacing gun in hand.

Officers and dispatchers called Streater on his phone to ask him to come outside. At one point he opened the door, but quickly went back inside.
Police knew he was inside the house, but weren’t sure if it had also become a hostage situation.
SWAT officers were called to the scene. An officer trained in hostage negotiation was able to coax Streater to come out without incident.
Officers found no one else inside the home. A search warrant was later executed and a handgun was found, Hartman said.
Streater, who was suspected to be under the influence of drugs, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for a psychological evaluation. He was released into police custody, but was uncooperative when it came to fingerprinting or photographing him, Hartman said.
Streater, a convicted felon, was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace, criminal possession of body armor and criminal possession of a firearm.
