Tracey Toured West Main Street Business District
Republican Mayoral Candidate 'Big Steve' Tracey toured the west end of the Main Street business district Tuesday.

EAST HAVEN, CT —Republican Mayoral Candidate "Big Steve" Tracey toured the business district of the west end of Main Street on Tuesday, a press release said. Tracey met with local small business owners to discuss ideas to bring revitalization and more business to these critical areas of East Haven’s economy, it was noted.
In his discussions, the release said, Tracey proposed furthering the effort for improved street lighting and sidewalks all the way to the New Haven town line.
Doing this he said “will greatly improve the image and make the area much more attractive as people enter our gateway to East Haven on a revitalized Main Street, the release read.

Tracey also proposed working with federal and state officials to seek additional funding for sidewalk and facade improvements.
“I promise, as Mayor, to be a relentless advocate to attract new business and grow our grand list and bring more jobs to East Haven. This is just the beginning,” he was quoted as saying.

Tracey also congratulated the manager of Circle Lanes Bowling on Main Street, Bill Painter, on their $3 million commitment to renovate their property and business, it was noted.
“Circle Lanes has been a wonderful part of our town for many years. The company attracts visitors from beyond East Haven and I am grateful for the continued commitment to our town,” Tracey was quoted as saying.
The press release from his campaign said Tracey also met with the owners of the brand-new Neighborhood Laundromat on Main Street, Mr. Kong Lim: "The facility is a state-of-the-art laundromat with 47 new washing machines and 64 dryers. It has all the amenities of a modern washing facility including flat screen TV’s and Wi-Fi hookup."
It was noted that Tracey thanked the owners for investing their business on Main Street and promised to continue their good work in upgrading the area as Mayor.
“It is critical that this part of our town be supported on every level. As mayor, on day one, economic development will be one of the highest priorities for me," Tracey was quoted as saying. “I own a small business on the west end of town, and I understand firsthand the obstacles and challenges these people face. As Mayor, they will have a friend in me, and my office will remain open to new ideas and bringing more prosperity to our great town.”
