The Chuck Wagon is a Perfect Place to Spend a Weekend Morning
It isn't unusual to find customers who have been patronizing this local breakfast and lunch restaurant the same day every week for years.

If you were to ask each resident of Ellington if they had ever been to The Chuck Wagon, chances are you would get a yes from everyone.
Known for years as a local destination for a great breakfast or lunch, is definitely a favorite for the people around town.
The draw of The Chuck Wagon is due to the down-home feel of the restaurant. The waitresses are friendly, the service is quick, and the food is good. These factors combine to create some very loyal customers.

Said one customer, "How can you not love The Chuck Wagon, the food is just like your mother used to make."

The love for The Chuck Wagon is evident when you step foot in the door. Weekends at the restaurant are all hustle and bustle for the staff, with every table and seat filled, with more customers arriving every few minutes.
Even with all the action the waitresses never show any frustration and are always happy to serve. The kitchen staff also manages to create every dish in a timely manner, so even when there is a full house, your meal is still steaming hot when it reaches you.
The Food
With an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, The Chuck Wagon offers an item for any taste.
The breakfast selections include all the classics such as French Toast and omelets. Also present are intriguing specialty options, such as the item that I ordered, Scrambled Eggs with Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
The meal included a selection of toast, along with a side of The Chuck Wagon's signature home fries.
The lunch menu consisted of several types of sandwiches and lunch basket combinations. As our visit to the Chuck Wagon was during the late morning, my companion ordered a Tuna Fish Sandwich on a hard roll, which came with a bag of chips.
The portions of each meal were very generous, fitting right into the home-like feel of the restaurant.
One of the highlights of each meal is the unique home fries. For potato lovers, the home fries at Chuck Wagon are a dream. With a good mix of crispy and soft, without overpowering flavors, the potatoes are a perfect complement to every meal.
The Verdict
This was not our first visit to The Chuck Wagon, and it was already among my favorite breakfast spots.
As with every other visit, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was good.
The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, and alongside a healthy portion of home fries, the meal was filling.
The only negative to the meal was the shredded cheese, which was placed on the eggs. The meal would be perfect if the cheese was melted on top, instead of just sprinkled on.
My companion's meal looked and tasted great. The tuna in the sandwich was plentiful and the lettuce had a good crunch.
As always, it was a pleasure to eat at The Chuck Wagon, and it deserves many return visits.
