A View From the Deck: Rice; Not a pleasant side dish
In this installment of 'A View From the Deck', local author J. Wiley Dumas expresses concern over President Obama's appointment of Susan Rice as National Security Advisor
NOTE: The following is OPINION. As such, it is the author's Point of View and his alone.
Ah, yes. As things begin to heat up in ‘Wonderland on the Potomac’ over the recent actions of everybody’s favorite government bureaucracy, the IRS, and we eagerly await the imminent ‘Tossing Under the Bus’ of USAG Eric Holder, President Obama has seen fit to do one of his famous magical distraction tricks by appointing Susan Rice as our nation’s National Security Advisor.
Huh? Did I read that right? Susan Rice in charge of advising President Obama on issues pertaining to our nation’s security? SERIOUSLY?!?
Rice, U.S. Ambassador to the (no so) United Nations, who drew criticism for her initial account of the Benghazi terror attack, did not require Senate confirmation for the single most important position of influence in the administration.
Earlier, Rice had been considered for Secretary of State, which does require confirmation, but withdrew amid the continuing fallout over her role following the September 11th, 2012 Benghazi attack.
Rice went on five Sunday shows after the attack and claimed it was triggered by protests over an anti-Islamic video, an explanation many lawmakers said was inaccurate.
The Obama administration later acknowledged there were no protests on the ground in Benghazi.
So, because she ‘misspoke’ on the attack on the U.S. Consulate that resulted in the death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and 3 other American citizens, she gets appointed to one of the most powerful and influential Cabinet posts in this poor excuse for an administration.
(Expletive Deleted)!
Seriously, what kind of moron appoints a proven ‘misdirection expert’ like Susan Rice to any position of influence other than White House Tour Guide? Is President Obama so desperate for an assistant in his ongoing ‘Magic Act’ that he has to settle for Rice?
I can just hear her now:
“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. Move along. Nothing to see here.”
This action by the president demonstrates a further example of being ‘out of touch’ with the American people, and a disturbing willingness to ignore protocol, all in the name of rewarding someone who has covered his…actions, and followed his ‘Leftist-Progressive’ agenda as far as one possibly can.
Remember these words? “We are going to fundamentally transform the United States of America.”
How ya liking that ‘change’ now?
But, one also has to wonder if this is an initial plan to place Rice in the growing line of those who are queuing up to be tossed under the Obama Bus. Perhaps her appointment will cause so much controversy and discord in ‘Wonderland’ that the ‘Magician in Chief’ will be able to continue his magic show of distraction, as the crowds applaud and ask themselves how it was done, ignorant of the fact that while they were watching, another Freedom was lost, and another Right was infringed upon.
Susan Rice has demonstrated a willingness to lie to We, the People. As such, she is no more qualified to advise the president on issues of National Security than Ronald McDonald is to advise children on healthy eating habits.
Meanwhile, the ‘Magician in Chief’ continues his magic act, distracting us all from the important issues, while his hand is plucking our wallets and ignoring the Constitution of the United States, smiling all the while.
Former Obama aide Samantha Power is expected to be named to succeed Rice as U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Power was an aide to the Obama campaign in 2008 but resigned after a report was published in which she called then-candidate Hillary Clinton a ‘monster.’
“Pay no attention to what I’m doing over here.”
