Accused Ellington Bottle Thrower Now Charged With Busting Up State Police Cruiser in Mansfield
He was already facing charges for throwing a bottle in an Ellington parking lot.

MANSFIELD, CT — An Enfield man who was arrested in January for throwing bottles in a high school parking lot and spitting at responders is facing several more charges after busting up the inside of a cruiser during an altercation in Mansfield.
Jesse Cooke, 23, of 25 Tolland Drive, Enfield, remained in custody on a $25,000 bond for the cruiser incident after appearing in court on Valentine's Day, judicial records indicate. He is due back in court on March, 8 for both cases, records indicate.
At 9:47 p.m. on Feb. 11, state police from the Troop C barracks were dispatched to 27 Barlow Road in Mansfield for a reported disturbance between brothers, an arrest report indicates.

Cooke was arrested and placed in a cruiser, but managed to free his legs from under the dashboard and kick the windshield several times until it broke, according to an arrest report. He fought with troopers until he was moved to a second cruiser, according to an arrest report.
For the fight, he was charged with assaulting an officer, interfering, disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief, according to an arrest report.

Cooke was also charged with possessing more than 5 ounces of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia, according to an arrest report.
On Jan.18, state police were called to Ellington High School for a drunken man who had allegedly thrown a beer bottle at a vehicle in the parking lot, according to an arrest report.
State police located the suspect, identified as Cooke, but Cooke started running away, according to arrest report. Cooke was chased down and arrested, but then began spitting at police and medical personnel who arrived at the scene, according to an arrest report.
Cooke was charged with assaulting a public safety officer, interfering with an officer, throwing an object at a motor vehicle and breach of peace, state police said.
