Activities Abound At The Nellie McKnight Museum Earth Day Celebration

The Nellie McKnight Museum will burst with activities during Ellington's Earth Day Celebration.

The Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main St., will be bursting with activities on Saturday, April 20th, during Ellington's Earth Day Celebration from 10 am to 2 pm.

The 2024 exhibit, “It Happened in Ellington…Believe it or Not,” features various intriguing stories in Ellington’s history and famous people who once called Ellington home. Learn about the legend of the bouncing pickle, intriguing crimes, hot air balloon rides, and so much more.

For young visitors, there are a host of fun activities lined up. Kids can unleash their creativity with rock painting, make pine cone bird feeders, get their faces painted, and have fun as a bouncing pickle.

The Hartsprings Foundation's collection of usable clothing and household goods and Habitat for Humanity's collection of gently used furniture will take place in the Museum's drive-through driveway. Ellington High School's Green Earth Club will be collecting bottles and cans.
