The Ellington 250 Committee is inviting community groups, organizations, artisans, vendors, food vendors, and parade participants to be part of a town-wide celebration commemorating 250 years of America on Saturday, October 3, on the Ellington Green.

The afternoon celebration will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., featuring a festive parade along Main Street beginning at 2:00 p.m. Organizers hope to create an engaging and educational event that highlights the people, traditions, and skills that shaped early America.

Local organizations and community groups are also encouraged to showcase aspects of early American life, agriculture, and community traditions through interactive displays and demonstrations.

In addition, applications are now being accepted for vendors, food vendors, and parade entries. The committee welcomes civic groups, businesses, historical organizations, schools, churches, scouts, agricultural groups, and other community organizations to join in making this milestone celebration memorable.

The event is part of the nationwide observance marking the 250th anniversary of the United States and will provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to celebrate America's heritage while highlighting Ellington's rich history and strong community spirit.
