Join the Somers Rotary Club

Besides conducting fundraising projects to raise money for deserving group (or to fund their own projects), Somers Rotarians are committed to the Rotary's motto of "Service Above Self." Some of the “Hands on” projects that they have participated in include: 

  • Built the Lifestar Heliport at Johnson Memorial Hospital

  • Sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt

  • Built the Somers Senior Citizens Center

  • Sponsor the annual Fishing Derby in May

  • Coordinate High School student Fundraisers, like the annual Cider Pressing

  • Annually award Scholarships to graduating High School Seniors

  • Sponsor the annual Road Race during the Four Town Fair

  • Moved and repaired a lodge for Boy Scout Troop 83

  • Assembled and installed a Playscape at Somersville and Kibbe Fuller School

  • Installed and landscaped the flag pole at the New  Somers Library

  • Built a fitness track at Field Road Park

  • Built a Wetlands Study Area on School Campus

  • Cleaned up Mill Pond Recreation Area

  • Built an outdoor amphitheater at Hole in the Wall Camp

  • Built shelters for Petting Zoo at Hole in the Wall Camp
  • Painted a house for a local citizen
  • The group meets every Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Somers Inn. They have guest speakers, discuss upcoming projects and enjoy good fellowship.
