Health & Fitness

Hi!

As a wife, a mother of two, the Director of a local Child Care, a co-creator of an Early Childhood Resource company and website, and a Zumba®/Dance Instructor, my life is full and busy!

Hi Patch.com followers!  My name is Tressa Giordano and I’m a long time resident of Ellington.  I loved the things that this area of the state had to offer me as a child and now I am proud to provide the same opportunities for my children.  As a wife, a mother of two, the Director of a local Child Care, a co-creator of an Early Childhood Resource company and website, and a Zumba®/Dance Instructor, my life is full and busy!

When I was asked to blog for Patch.com I wasn’t quite sure what interesting information I had to offer you all.  So after some pondering…. My goal is to offer some interesting and upbeat inspiration for you all.  Personally I find myself inspired everyday through interactions with those around me.  I also find inspiration from music.  I find that my listening choices correlate directly to the mood I’m in or perhaps the mood I want to feel. I have a love for all types of music and genres.   I truly believe that music can motivate, heal, encourage, move, strengthen, comfort and empower us all.  So, I hope you sit back and enjoy me sharing my life experiences along with a link to a piece of music that for that day can be considered my “theme song.”

A typical day for me:

Wake up at 7:15, get kids dressed and fed for school, bus by 8:30.  Go to work as a Director of a Child Care, hold babies, unclog toilets, have a meeting with the fire marshal, input camp registrations, etc etc.  3:30:  get home for the bus, start dinner, through in a load of laundry, give my 2nd grader a spelling quiz and oversee homework, vacuum the house, start to make dinner, pay a couple of bills.  5:00:  dinner on the table, clean up dinner, make lunches for next day, through load of laundry in dryer, help 2nd get in Lacrosse uniform, help 5 year old with art project, put Zumba® play-list together.  5:45:  bring child to lacrosse practice, sit in car and do work on the laptop.  7:00:  meet hubby at practice and hand over the kids  7:15 go teach Zumba® class.  8:45 go grocery shopping, 10:00: put groceries away with help from hubby, catch up with hubby, shower and if I’m lucky in bed by 11.

I’m sure my schedule is very similar to many of you busy parents.  Let’s face it….our days are filled with activities/tasks/work from the time we wake until the time we finally hit the pillow!  So my “theme song” for today is Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5.”  On my busiest of days, I’ll crank this song in my car and instantly feel as though I’m not the only person in this world running around all day long.  Don’t get me wrong, I am blessed to have such an active life but do enjoy a little musical boost every now and then.
