Scouts Helping to Feed Hungry Families in Ellington
Cub Scouts are collecting food for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, which serves area families year round. Demand increases around the holidays, and is expected to increase further due to Storm Sandy.

Two fundamental goals of the cub scouts are to "give good will" and "to help other people." Right now the scouts in Ellington are doing just that by participating in a national effort called Scouting for Food.
Scouts have been hard at work placing YELLOW plastic bags on the doors of homes in their neighborhoods with notes requesting neighbors to fill those bags with non-perishable food items. The notes contain a date when the bags should be placed back on your doorstep for pick up by the scout.
Your participation couldn't be easier because the scouts come to you!

If you don't receive a yellow bag from a local scout, you can still help by bringing food to the rear entrance of Ellington High School on November 10th.
