Vicki's List

Finding trusted professionals to get your property ready for the marketplace is sometimes just a call away!

Getting ready to list your property can sometime be an overwhelming task. Calling in a real estate professional to help tackle your “to do” list can be very beneficial. There are many places to go for referrals for trade’s people. Some of these are paid sites, and of course your family, friends and co-workers can also become great resources.

I was recently on an appointment with a family who had several items to address before we went to the market place with their property. As we went thru the list of items to do, I found, as I usually do, that I had several great referrals to share with the sellers to get these tasks completed.  We laughed and called it “Vicki’s List” similar to a popular internet trade referral site. Most realtors have their own list of trusted contractors and trades people.

Although this may be the first time you are selling your property, your local real estate professional does this all day long! Trust them to guide you on what is important to fix, repair and replace and what maybe you can save your money on. Some repairs are of course absolutely required but others may not be desponding on what you are selling and the market place you are selling in and who your likely buyers will be.

Realtors are also aware of the details lenders and their appraisers will call out as required repairs to be able to transfer your property and for the buyer to obtain a loan. A few of these examples include things like fuse boxes, peeling paint, missing hand rails and other safety issues.

For me it is Vicki’s List.... your local broker will also have their own list! I am happy to share some of these referrals with you on my Web site – please be aware our firm gains nothing by sharing these names with you and only does so from experience. As always feel free to e-mail or call me with your questions or concerns! You can also LIKE us on Facebook for updates and other helpful real estate topics and trends.
