Ding, Dong, the Witch is GONE!
In this installment of 'A View From the Deck', J. Wiley Dumas gives his take on the resignation of DHS head Janet Napolitano
NOTE: The following is OPINION. It is the author's Point of View and his alone.
As the racially-charged trial of George Zimmerman gets set to go to the jury, there is one spark of bright light in the dark, dismal news:
Janet Napolitano is resigning as head of the Homeland Security Department and seeking a post as president of the University of California.

Hmm. I wonder exactly what she plans to teach?
Napolitano does not plan to leave her post until September, but she announced the move on Friday after it began to break in the media.

"For more than four years I have had the privilege of serving President Obama and his Administration as the Secretary of Homeland Security," she said in a statement. "The opportunity to work with the dedicated men and women of the Department of Homeland Security, who serve on the frontlines of our nation's efforts to protect our communities and families from harm, has been the highlight of my professional career. We have worked together to minimize threats of all kinds to the American public."
Wait. Lemme read that last sentence once more. I coulda swore she said “minimize threats of all kinds to the American public.”
Isn’t this is the same woman that once lumped American veterans and certain Conservative groups into the category of ‘Potential Terrorists?’
Napolitano has had a rocky tenure, having endured a string of lawsuits and multiple controversies regarding the agencies that DHS oversees. Among the complaints, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have accused the department leadership of failing to properly enforce immigration law.
Gee. Surprise there, huh?
The news of her departure apparently caught Napolitano's staff by surprise. Officials said the view among many at the department is that Napolitano has been ‘out of sight, out of mind’ for a while, particularly since she declared "the system worked" after a terrorist tried, unsuccessfully, to set off a bomb on a Detroit-bound flight in 2009.
I seem to recall that it was an alert passenger that foiled the plot, not any ‘system.’
Okay, fine. She’s resigning as head of DHS and all I have to say is it’s about time. One has to wonder though who will President Obama name as her replacement. It has to be someone that follows the same protocols as Napolitano: Inept, Incompetent, and with a demonstrated dislike of Freedom.
The list of those within the current administration that possess such ‘qualifications’ is far too long to list here.
But let us all breath a bit easier as the Self-declared enemy of America’s Armed Forces veterans steps down and takes her ideology to where it is better suited, and shapes those young minds of California’s University system in a way that will leave no doubt that she indeed can take total credit for.
“The system worked.”
No, it most assuredly did not, Secretary Napolitano, and your departure from this administration, several years too late, is proof.
