Driver Warned After Hitting Pedestrian In Ellington

Police said the pedestrian was walking along Pinney Street Wednesday evening.

ELLINGTON, CT — A 2008 Toyota Camry’s passenger-side mirror struck a 37-year-old woman walking on Pinney Street Wednesday evening, according to a police crash summary. No injuries were reported.

The crash happened near Windermere Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Sept. 30. Police said an 18-year-old Ellington man was driving north while the woman, a Guilford resident, was walking south along the shoulder of the northbound lane.

A 17-year-old Ellington girl was riding in the front passenger seat. Neither she nor the driver or pedestrian was taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The mirror sustained minor damage, and the car was not towed.

“No reported injuries, minor damage to the side mirror,” police wrote.

The driver received a warning for failing to exercise due care to avoid colliding with a pedestrian, according to the crash summary.
