Ellington Farmers' Market Celbrates Mushrooms and Salsa

Our love affair with fresh, local food continues as we celebrate our Salsa and Mushroom Festival on Saturday, August 31 from 9 AM until noon.  New England Green will feature healthy antioxidant-rich fresh and dried shitake mushrooms, and Norm's Best will be on hand as usual with Norm's delicious marinated mushrooms, both sweet and spicy.  Our vendors will feature varieties of  fresh and cooked salsa for your sampling and purchasing pleasure, including traditional tomato-based salsa, both fresh and canned, and yummy spicy peach salsa. Entertainment this week will be the interactive chiildren's music program Arts from the Heart, and guest vendors include Summer's Sweetest Melons and Faith, Love and Ladybugs and their cute craft-ware.  Bring a sturdy bag or basket to transport fresh, locally grown and created salsa, mushrooms and fresh produce from local farms and gardens for your family to enjoy all week.
