Cherokee purple, green zebra, pineapple, amana orange,jubilee and other gorgeous varieties of ripe tomatoes will be displayed and ready to take home this Saturday as we celebrate Heirloom Tomato day at the market. Whether you eat them fresh or use them in a recipe with your favorite garden-fresh herbs, there is nothing like a juicy New England tomato picked fresh out of the garden! Several varieties will be available, so bring an extra bag or basket to enjoy. Our friends from Summer's Sweetest Melons will continue to provide us with just-picked, juicy melons straight from the garden, and we welcome back O'Live a Little with their savory and delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Entertainment will be provided by Just Jeanie, featuring Jeannie Pomeroy, a local guitarist/singer who performs with three different bands and is an accomplished solo artist in the Hartford area. Join us as fresh, local fruits and veggies pour into the market from local farms and gardens. Bring a friend or neighbor who has yet to experience our market - this Saturday from 9 to noon.
