Ellington-Somers Bounced From Tournament
The Ellington-Somers American Legion baseball team fell to Waterford on Tuesday.

The Ellington-Somers American Legion baseball team fought back after falling behind but couldn't make up the difference in a 9-8 loss to Waterford in the play-in round of the tournament.
Ellington-Somers scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to close the gap to 9-8 and had bases loaded with two outs but couldn't push the equalizer across.
Nick Binkowski had a double in the ninth inning rally to score one and put runners at second and third. Matt Kramer added a two-run single to close the gap to 9-8. The game then ended on a ground out to short with bases loaded.

Zack Graves pitched but struggled through most of the game. Jake Gagne pitched the final three innings giving up no runs and keeping Ellington-Somers in the game.
Ellington-Somers hurt itself by giving Waterford a majority of its runs on wild pitches, passed balls and errors in the outfield.

Waterford jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two runs in each of the first two innings. Ellington-Somers battled back to take a 5-4 lead in the fourth inning. Malcolm Williams had a huge two-run double to help Ellington-Somers take the lead in the fourth.
Dustin Mocadlo had two hits including a triple in the loss.
Ellington-Somers finishes the season with a 16-11 record.
