Ellington-Somers Football Team Gears Up for Season Opener
Knights look to improve on last year's 6-5 record, open season Sept. 13 against Avon.
While the Ellington-Somers football team’s season doesn’t open until Sept. 13, preseason practices are in full swing and the Knights are looking to improve on last year’s 6-5 record.
To do so, Ellington-Somers will rely on a young, mostly junior-laden group, and will need to make up for the loss of two-time All-Pequot quarterback Joe Leslie, who led the team in both passing (1,132 yards), rushing (907) and was second in scoring.
The Knights open the season Sept. 13 at Avon at 1:30 p.m.
