Ellington-Somers Football Team Wins Emotional Opener

Knights will be back in action Saturday afternoon against Windsor Locks-Suffield-East Granby co-op team.

Fresh off the Ellington-Somers’ football team’s emotional season-opening victory over Avon, the Knights will be back in action Saturday afternoon when they travel to Windsor Locks for a 1 p.m. kickoff against the Windsor Locks-Suffield-East Granby co-op team.

Ellington-Somers beat Avon 28-14 in the final meeting between the schools before Avon moves to the CCC. It was only the Knights’ second win over Avon in nine meetings.

It was also Ellington-Somers’ first game since the tragic death of former all-state player Austin Tautkus, who died after an ATV accident over the summer.
