Boys basketball and boys ice hockey teams from around Connecticut begin state tournament competition this week, while the girls basketball tournaments continue with quarterfinal action.

No. 21 Ellington at No. 12 Bacon Academy, Tuesday at 7 p.m., winner faces No. 5 Northwestern Regional or No. 28 Valley Regional on 3/10

Boys Basketball - Class S - first round
No. 17 St. Bernard at No. 16 Somers, Monday at 7 p.m., winner faces No. 1 Immaculate or No. 32 Hyde Leadership on 3/9

Boys Ice Hockey - Division III - first round
