Ellington, Somers Teams Qualify for State Tournaments

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT - With the high school spring sports regular season winding down, it is time to start thinking about state tournament competition in baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse and boys volleyball.

Four teams each from Somers and Ellington high schools have clinched postseason spots. They are (with current record, rank and classification):

Somers

• boys lacrosse - 14-2, 1st, S
• girls lacrosse - 13-3, 3rd, S
• softball - 11-9, 21st, S
• baseball - 8-12, 31st, S

Ellington

• softball - 17-3, 7th, M
• baseball - 14-6, 8th, M
• girls lacrosse - 10-6, 9th, S
• boys lacrosse - 9-6, 11th, S
