
On a sunny, warm day in Ellington, the Ellington-Somers girls' tennis team shut out East Granby 7-0.
In singles, Hannah Riley, Kristine Gouin, Kat Sisco and Janna Grinaski each won points for the Knights.
The doubles teams of Jess Baker-Courtney Binkowski, Karli King-Allison Steinmetz, and Hayley Babineau-Ashley Thomas also won their points.
"The Babineau-Thomas match was exciting as they got down 0-3 in the opening set then roared back, winning 12 of the next 13 games to win the match," said coach Rich Willis.
Ellington-Somers upped its record to 2-0 and will host Windsor Locks on Wednesday.
