Ellington-Somers Tennis Splits Day
The girls picked up a victory while the boys took a tough loss.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Ellington-Somers tennis team faced mixed results against Granby.
The girls won 6-1 while the boys fell 4-3.
Hannah Riley, Kristine Gouin, and Kat Sisco won in singles play. In doubles, Jess Baker-Courtney Binkowski, Karli King-Allison Steinmetz, and Hayley Babineau-Ashley Thomas all came up winners all won their matches.
The girls moved their record to 5-0.
For the boys, Micah Fox and Kevin Sisco scored singles points. Andrew Parker played well in a losing cause against Chandler Libby, one of the top players in the state.
The doubles team of Corey Maznicki-James Rockett came back from one set down to score an exciting 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory for Ellington-Somers.
The boys now stand at 2-1.
Both teams are back in action on Monday against Suffield.
