Ellington-Somers Tennis Takes Down Avon Again

For the second time in four days, the teams matched up and Ellington-Somers came away with the victory.

In a riveting rematch of the top two NCCC teams, the Ellington-Somers girls tennis team travelled to Avon on Monday and for the second time in four days, beat the Falcons 4-3.

Singles points were scored by Hannah Riley and Kat Sisco. Karli King-Allison Steinmetz and Hayley Babineau-Ashley Thomas scored points in doubles.

Like the initial meeting of these two teams, the rematch was close and exciting throughout.

With the match score tied 3-3, No. 2 Doubles was the last on the courts and decided the outcome of the match. King and Steinmetz pulled out a 7-5 victory in the third set to seal Ellington's win.

Riley at No. 1 Singles and both the winning doubles teams had to work hard with three set victories. Sisco won in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

The girls move to 9-0 on the season and are back in action against Windsor Locks on Wednesday and Bolton on Thursday.
