Ellington-Somers Tennis Wins Exciting Match Against Avon
Both teams came into the match undefeated and it came down to the wire.

In a huge NCCC match, the Ellington-Somers girls tennis team defeated visiting Avon 4-3.
Singles points were scored by Hannah Riley, and Kat Sisco. Karli King-Allison Steinmetz and Hayley Babineau-Ashley Thomas scored points in doubles.
Coach Rich Willis said that this was an incredibly exciting match of two unbeaten teams that was closely contested for each point.
With the match score tied 3-3, all attention shifted to court 4 where the final match at No. 3 Singles was finishing out. Kat Sisco scored a clutch 6-4, 7-5 victory to secure the win for Ellington.
Riley had her toughest match of the year, grinding out a solid 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 Singles.
Doubles play was strong for Ellington-Somers with King and Steinmetz and Babineau and Thomas having very steady matches and the No. 1 Doubles team Jess Baker-Courtney Binkowski losing to Avon in a three-set battle.
The girls move to 8-0 on the season and travel to Avon (8-1) on Monday. The 3-1 boys team is at Enfield on Friday.
