Wednesday night, I was honored to receive the SRTC's endorsement. We began the night with a friendly ice cream social in an attempt to beat the heat. This has been quite a scorching week! I ended the night in contemplation of the Town Committee and the hard work of the nominations team that culminated in creating a strong slate of candidates for the upcoming election. I am proud to be among the best and the brightest the Republicans have to offer. My congratulations is extended to my peers on the endorsed slate - Lisa Pellegrini (First Selectman), Sarah Bollinger, Bruce Devlin, Joan Formeister, Marybeth Marquardt, Kate McLellan (Board of Education), David Olsen (Board of Assessors), Robin Provencher (Library Board), and Tom Mazzoli (Board of Finance). I look forward to working with each and every one of them.
All Somers registered Republicans are encouraged to attend the Annual Picnic & Caucus on Tuesday at which time the slate will be formally nominated. The event will be held at Worthington Pond; the picnic starts at 5:30 and the caucus will be called to order at 7:00. I look forward to a fun and unifying night with all!
