On May 8 at 7:30 a.m. at Somersville Mill Pond, join others as spring unfolds by enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Scantic River and its abundance of migrating birds during a leisurely canoe/kayaking trip. The trip will start from the Somersville Mill Pond and paddle up the Scantic river past the 190 Bridge. Meet at 7:30 a m. at the Mill Pond parking lot off of School Street in Somersville. Bring your boat, a lifejacket and a pair of binoculars. Inclement weather cancels this event. This trip is sponsored by the Scantic River Watershed Association.
