Farmers' are busy transplanting seedlings, coaxing cold weather crops and pleading with Mother Nature to bring on spring as they prepare for the opening of the Ellington Farmers' Market summer season May 4th 9-12 in Arbor Park. Opening day features the ever popular "Barnyard Babies" theme including a "Name the Calf" contest in which the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate. The market welcomes several new vendors including the popular gluten free bakery Shayna B and the Pickle, Jean and Milo's Kettle Korn, and Dolce Vita Gelato. Adults will enjoy strolling the grounds while munching on a sweet roll and listening to the music provided by our market sweetheart, Sheryl Stanton, while the children enjoy the cutest barnyard babies ever. Mark your calendars for opening day May 4th 9-12.
