ELLINGTON, CT — Fundraising efforts are underway to help owners of an Ellington horse farm rebuild a barn which was destroyed by fire Friday morning.

The raging blaze engulfed a barn at Hillside Stables on Jobs Hill Road shortly before 9:30 a.m. Friday. More than 30 horses escaped the fire into surrounding neighborhoods, and were all recovered unharmed with the aid of numerous volunteers.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to aid the owners through their loss. As of 11 a.m. Monday, more than $5,400 had been donated.
