Hallelujah and Holy snot,...where's the Tylenol?

In this installment of 'A View From the Deck', J. Wiley Dumas laments the current news, and the politics behind it, we are facing each day.

NOTE: The following is OPINION. It is the author's Point of View and his alone.

What the heck is going on in our country? Edward Snowden, the man who claims he leaked information on the NSA’s widespread surveillance program, is allegedly sitting in Moscow, doing and saying who-knows-what to who.

The IRS debacle has still not resulted in the firing of a single employee after its targeting of Conservative groups and individuals.

Questions about Benghazi still haven’t been asked, let alone answered.

A massive ‘Immigration Reform’ bill that no one has read is up before Congress.

And to top it all off, President Obama is set to do an end-run around Congress and put in place regulations on coal producers and coal-powered energy sources that will put yet another serious cramp on energy prices, all for wanting to do something godlike regarding ‘Climate Change.’

Any single one of these issues could give a person a migraine if they thought about it too long, but to have them all vying for top spot on almost a daily basis as of late is enough to send one over the border into Looney Land.

The Snowden Mess just gets more embarrassing for the country every single day. First, he reveals not only the fact that the NSA was spying on Americans, recording e-mail and internet data, but also claims that he knows the methods and technology that the NSA used to do so. No matter how ‘noble’ he first thought his cause, his actions demand prosecution for Treason.

But first, we have to get him back.

Now we understand that Julian Assange, of Wikileaks infamy, is covering Snowden’s behind as he reportedly remains in Moscow.

The administration has demanded that Snowden be extradited, but the only answer to this has been a resounding “No!”

And why should either Hong Kong or Moscow say anything else? After all, President Obama has not yet commanded any respect from China, People’s Republic of, or Moscow, rather Vladimir ‘Vlad the Impaler’ Putin, who would be perfectly willing to challenge our president to a winner-take-all Cage Match...

…I’d almost consider getting ‘Pay per View’ to see that one…

Almost.

The questions remaining about the terrorist attack that took the lives of 4 Americans in Benghazi, Libya on September 11th, 2012 will most likely never see light ever again, as Hillary is poised to take up the mantle of Great Progressive Demigod’ and lead us kicking and screaming into the comfort and conformity of “One Unified World.”

The IRS debacle? Don’t worry. Nothin’s gonna change there, except your taxes, which will most likely go up. And those people watching your house? Get used to them.

Why will the IRS issue be quietly resolved? Because the IRS is an integral part of the implementation of ‘ObamaCare.’

Remember?

The Immigration ‘Reform’ measure, of which some lawmakers have chuckled “We have to pass it to understand it, right?” is set to be voted on soon, and if passed, will damage the economy by hitting employment and State and Federal Entitlement programs, as well as slapping thousands of legal Resident Aliens in the face as they are pushed to the back of the line regarding Citizenship and the benefits they are due.

Now, our ‘Fearless Leader’ is about to do a run around Congressional approval to put into place a ‘New and Improved’ version of his failed ‘Cap and Trade’ bill that will seriously damage a vital source of energy for our nation. This is another effort to push ‘Green Energy’ alternatives on We, the People, despite the fact that most of the alternative energy technology either doesn’t work, is inefficient, is still in development, is expensive, or is just plain non-existent (yet is still funded by OUR TAX DOLLARS).

The current politics of our nation have become the main issue that is further dividing Americans along Social/Economic/Ideological lines. Lines drawn not in the sand, but through our relationships with one another. Where we once could have open discussions on issues, we now attack. Where we once could agree to disagree, we now hold grudges.

We are divided. And what good does it do us? Can we ever repair the relationships damaged, or the friendships lost?

Shouldn’t we ask ourselves who could possibly benefit from seeing a nation so torn apart by internal dissent?

Just remember that when Julius Caesar was poised at the Rubicon, ready to conquer Rome, when asked his strategy, responded:

“Divide and Conquer.”

Yeah, I gotta seriously find some aspirin right now, and turn off the TV.

Wait! Cage Match!

Gotta make popcorn.

Si vis Pacem, Para Bellum
