The Kids Power of Produce Club debut at the Ellington Farmers' Market on Sat. June 15th was extremely well received with sixty children signing up to participate. On signing up for the club each child received a shopping bag, token bag, bookmark and $2 token to be used towards the purchase of fresh produce. The children enjoyed pedaling a bicycle which powered a blender that made green smoothies and sampling these delicious treats. Signup for the club is ongoing through Aug 31st. Kids who participate in the weekly activity receive a $2 token to purchase fresh produce. The market is held in the quaint country setting of Arbor Park, Main St., Ellington. Come on down and join the fun!
