SOMERS, CT — A Somers man has been charged with trying to sneak an already-cashed check past a bank teller written out to his employer at the time and then taking jewelry that belonged the late wife of another man who hired him to do odd jobs around his house, state police said.
Ethan Gaudet, 22, of Billings Road, Somers, was charged with second-degree forgery and criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny on one warrant and third-degree larceny on a second warrant.
Gaudent allegedly walked into the United Bank branch in Somers at about 10 a.m. on April 10 and tried to cash a check for $1,845, a warrant states. The teller noticed that the check was made out the previous November and that it had already been cashed, according to a warrant.
