Man Charged For Stealing, Trying to Pawn Power Tools From Ellington Barn
The man tried to pawn the stolen tools, despite them being initialed, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — An East Windsor man has been charged with third-degree larceny in a case of stolen power tools out of Ellington that dates back to November.
Robert Wormstedt, 43, of 223 East Road in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, had the charge added to his already lengthy list of active cases on Wednesday, state police said. He is currently in custody for similar crimes, according to judicial system records, and was served his latest warrant in court.
State police received a complaint about tools missing from a barn off Abbott Road on Nov. 11, according to arrest warrant. A resident had gone into the barn and noticed they were gone, state police said.

Among the items taken were power saws, drills, a rotary hammer, a finish nailer and a backpack blower. The resident told police the tools had been initialized with bright "neon" spray paint.
Wormstedt tried to pawn the tools at area shops, according to an arrest warrant.

Wormstedt knew the resident, state police said. He also has a "known drug addiction," police said in an arrest warrant.
