Man Gets DUI After Bouncing Car Off Snowbank: Cops

A car was seen 'all over the road' near Crystal Lake, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT — An Ellington man was charged with drunken driving after after he allegedly bounced off a snowbank with a half-full glass of whiskey in the car, state police said.

Casmir Spytek, 71, who lives on Hotel Lake Road, was arrested at 8:02 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a report.

State police said they received a 911 call about a car "all over the road" that also had bounced off a snowbank. State police found him sitting behind the wheel and a half-full glass of whiskey was near him in a cup holder, according to a report.

He refused to submit to a sobriety test, state police said.

Spytek has been arrested on his road before.

In Sept. 2017, callers told state police that a man was driving up and down the road in a pickup truck, causing damage to the surface, according to an arrest report.

When troopers arrived, they questioned Spytek and Spytek said it was all intentional because he is mad at the town for not maintaining the road, according to an arrest report.
