North-Central Connecticut Teams Have Successful Monday in State Tournaments
Nine of the 11 teams from the region that competed Monday night emerged victorious, including Somers boys basketball.
As girls basketball moved into quarterfinal action and the boys basketball and boys ice hockey tournaments got underway, high school teams from the north-central Connecticut area fared quite well in postseason action Monday night.
Nine teams from the region earned victories, while just two fell to defeat.
Somers opened the Class S boys basketball tournament with a 49-44 win over St. Bernard.
