Somers: Lisa Pellegrini was endorsed to run for her third term as First Selectman of the Town of Somers, at the Republican Caucus held Tuesday at Worthington Pond Farms. She easily defeated a challenge from Donna Doyker, Tax Collector.

Following the caucus, Pellegrini said that being First Selectman is a tremendous responsibility, and that the support she has received during her tenure has meant all the world to her. She continued to say that she is happy with the way that the Board of Selectmen have been working together for the past two years, and is optimistic about continuing to represent the townspeople of Somers for her next term.

Knorr also stated that the key thing to the successes of the current Board of Selectmen is that they present a united approach to decisions guiding the policies and practices of the town. “This is unique, and unusual in most political arenas today,” he noted.
Others endorsed by the caucus to be on the November 2013 ballot are newcomer Erik Waskiel, Board of Selectmen candidate; Board of Education candidates Bruce Devlin, Joan Formeister, Sarah Bollinger, Marybeth Marquardt, Kate McLellan, and Linda Louise LaCasse; Tom Mazzoli, Board of Finance; Robin Provencher, Library Board; David Olsen, Board of Assessors; and newcomer Christina Anderson, Town Clerk.
