Police Dog Tracks Down Man Who Crashed Into Somers Yard

A man was charged with DUI after landing in a Somers yard, state police said.

SOMERS, CT — A Stafford man had to be tracked down by a police dog after crashing his car into a yard late Friday night and fleeing the scene, according to an arrest report.

The crash took place at 11:17 p.m., state police said. Brian Tretter, 28, of Stafford, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Hurlburt Road when he approached the intersection of Four Bridges Road, according to a crash report.

He blew through a stop sign, went into the yard of 230 Four Bridges Road and hit a car parked on the property, according to a crash report.

Tretter left the scene on foot and a dog unit was called in to track him. He was found a short time later on Hall Hill, according to an arrest report.

Tretter refused to take a field sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence, according to an arrest report.

He was also charged with evading responsibility and a stop sign violation, according to an arrest report.

He posted a $5,000 bond and is due on court on Aug. 24 according to state police.
