Police Investigating School Shooting Threat in Somers

State police are investigating a vague school shooting threat that was made in the Somers area on the social media app Yik Yak early Friday morning, according to NBC Connecticut.

Fox CT reports that all Yik Yak posts are anonymous but they are sorted geographically.

The first post that comes up in the Somers are is, “Want to make sure everyone is aware of this school shooting threat,” according to NBC Connecticut.

While the threat was vague and no particular school or area was mentioned, police are taking it very seriously and have an increased presence at schools in Somers today as the investigation continues.
