Somers Baseball Drops Game in Coventry

The Spartans have hit a rough spot, losing three of their last four games.

On Monday afternoon, the Somers High School baseball team dropped a 6-2 decision in Coventry.

The Spartans had a 2-1 lead going to the bottom of the sixth, but in that frame, the Patriots scored five runs to secure the victory.

Ryan Connor started the game for Somers, walking one, hitting two, and recording three strikeouts. Mike Lesco came in in relief.

Chris Bohr pitched for Coventry and had four strikeouts and three walks.

Connor and Justin Erickson each drove in a run for Somers and Brian Hollister walked, had a hit, and scored a run.

For Coventry, Bruce Smith went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI double. Nate Decker was 2-for-4 with a double.

Somers (7-3) will host Windsor Locks on Wednesday. Coventry (3-7) will travel to East Granby the same day.
