Somers Baseball Takes Down East Windsor

The Spartans defeated the Panthers 11-1 on Monday.

The Somers High School baseball team remained perfect with an 11-1 victory over visiting East Windsor.

For Somers, there were several hitting stars, including Austin Ficara who was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, a double, and a run batted in. Ryan Connor went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI double.

Tom Conlon was 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and a walk. Justin Erickson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. Zach Varnaukas was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run driven in.

Conlon pitched a complete game for the Spartans, striking out eight. He also walked one and hit two. 

East Windsor scored its lone run on a wild pitch.

Kevin Briggs took the loss for the Panthers.

Somers (5-0, 3-0) travels to East Windsor (0-4, 0-4) on Tuesday.
