Somers, Ellington Drop Little League Games
The Somers 11-12 year-old All-Stars and the Ellington 10-11 year-old All-Stars both fell on Saturday.

In its first game of the 11-12 year-old Little League All-Star tournament, Somers fell 8-3 to Stafford.
Zick Zamsky got a base hit to drive in a run and start a four-run rally for Stafford in the fourth.
Luke Broadhurst came in to pitch in the third inning, holding Somers scoreless for three innings while Stafford showed a strong offense throughout the lineup.

Defensively for Stafford, second baseman Hunter Davis made a difficult play in right field with two outs diving for a fly ball in the first inning, helping Stafford to hold off Somers.
Standouts for Somers were pitcher Nick Gray, third baseman James Chaisson and outfielder Aaron Young.

Gray pitched a solid game for Somers with five strikeouts. Young had two hits and Chaisson had a double to center field in the sixth inning.
Stafford (1-0) will host East Windsor on Tuesday and Somers (1-1) will play in Tolland on the same day.
10-11 All-Stars
The Manchester National 10-11 year-old All-Stars held off a late rally by Ellington to win 6-5 in Manchester.
Alex Fitzgerald had three hits and catcher David Fox had two hits to lead Manchester’s early attack.
Ellington pitcher Ben Cathcart came on in the third inning to shut down Manchester (2-2) the rest of the way.
Manchester’s Brendan Reilly pitched well for 5 2/3 innings, while Gio Carone picked up the save with the tying run on second in the bottom of the sixth.
Ellington (2-1) will play Thompsonville on Tuesday.
