Somers Juniors Win Again, Ellington 10-11 year-old Team Falls

The Somers team beat up on Enfield while Ellington fell to Thompsonville.

The Somers Junior All-Star team defeated Enfield 14-0 on Saturday. 

Winning pitcher Zach Kertenis had five strikeouts in four innings of work and also had a triple.

Brian Hollister had three hits and pitched well in one inning of relief.

Jack Hostetler and Austin Stinson each had two hits. Hostetler and Stinson each got both of their hits in the same inning.
 
Enfield standouts were Nolan King and Conner Broems.

The Thompsonville 10-11 year-old All-Star team defeated Ellington 3-2 on Saturday in a pitching duel.

For Thompsonville, Leyden Brousseau started, and pitched four strong innings, allowing two runs.

Brousseau also added a key hit in the two run fifth inning.  Kyle Menaker walked and scored in the fifth. 

Daniel Neal closed out the last two innings and didn't allow a run. Neal and added the go ahead RBI double in the top of the sixth, driving in Enrique Claudio who had walked.  

Mike Kennedy hit well for Thompsonville.

Jacob Luginbuhl pitched the complete game for Ellington and scored a run. 

Nick Tshonas had two hits, a RBI, and scored a run. Michael Dubiel had two hits and a RBI, and Izaiah Castro-Vega was a star on defense.
