Somers Man Chops off End of Finger During Attempted Break-In, Returns to Scene to Find It: Report
A man was charged after returning to the scene of an attempted Somers break-in to find a piece of a severed finger.

SOMERS, CT — A man who tried to break into a local Dunkin' Donuts shop was arrested after he returned to the scene to find a piece of a finger cut off while attempting to pry open a drive-up window with a knife, state police said.
David Allen White, 30, of Somers, was charged on Saturday with criminal attempt at third-degree burglary and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny, according to an arrest report. He is due in court on Oct. 10, state police said.
The incident took place at 1 a.m. on Sept. 19, according to an arrest report.

Troopers watched surveillance video of the incident and saw white cut his hand while trying to pry open the drive-up window with a knife, according to an arrest report.
He had driven to a local hospital for treatment, but then went back to the Dunkin' to find the end of his pinky finger.

Witnesses also identified him as a former employee who had been fired, according to an arrest report. State police also gathered blood evidence and applied for a warrant to formally charge him, according to an arrest report.
