Somers Prepares For Inaugural National Night Out Event
The intent is to get people out of their houses, see their neighbors, and meet police, fire and rescue professionals.

SOMERS, CT — Following the lead of several neighboring communities, the town of Somers will host its inaugural National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1 at Connor's Place at the Field Road Park. The event will run from 6-8 p.m.
This national event, celebrating its 20th year, is intended to get people out of their houses, see their neighbors, and meet the police, fire and rescue professionals who work so hard to keep them safe.
The event is being run in partnership with Somers Comes Together, which will have a table with information and giveaway items. There will also be games, crafts, snacks, demonstrations of fire and police vehicles and equipment, activities for kids, resources and education.
