Somers Resident Charged In Tolland Tool Burglary

A man is accused of taking expensive tools at a construction site.

TOLLAND, CT — State police have made an arrest in a case of expensive tools stolen from a construction site in Tolland.

Carl Osuna, 48, whose listed address is an apartment on Springfield Road in Somers, was charged with third-degree larceny for the June 12 caper, according to a report.

He posted a $10,000 bond and is due in court on July 30, state police said.

A contractor performing work at a commercial property on Gerber Drive noticed that a padlock was broken off a door to a storage room at the site and called state police.

He then noticed several tools were taken:

  • A saw valued at $1,100
  • A drill driver valued at $250
  • A drywall tool worth $100
  • A nail gun valued at $150
  • A rachet set worth $70
  • A $50 orange ladder

Investigators discovered some of the items for sale on Craigslist and at a pawn shop in Stafford, according to a warrant. They were tarced to Osuna, according to a warrant.

Osuna is currently on probtion and has previous arrests for thefts, a warrant states.
