Somers, Tolland Advance to Soccer Quarterfinals
The Spartans and Eagles were each victorious in second-round state tournament play Thursday.

Somers and Tolland each keep their boys soccer state championship hopes alive by winning second-round games Thursday to move on to quarterfinal competition.
Somers shut out No. 9 St. Paul, 2-0 to earn a spot in the Class S quarterfinals. The eighth-seeded Spartans will visit No. 1 Morgan Saturday at 2 p.m. in Clinton.
In Class M, fourth-seeded Tolland walloped No. 13 Ansonia, 6-1. The Eagles will host No. 12 Plainville in the quarterfinals Saturday at 5 p.m.
